Retna A. Billano, M.D. is a Board certified Dermatologist by the American Board of Dermatology. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and also a fellow of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. She holds membership in the American Medical Association, Jefferson County Medical Association, Medical Association of Alabama, Alabama Dermatologist Association, American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and American Society for Laser, Medicine and Surgery.
Dr. Billano’s unique background and life experience gives her a special perspective as well as over 20 years of practice expertise. She brings this to each patients’ consultation, so the best treatment for the patient’s goals and health benefit are accomplished.
Dr. Billano began her college career at the University of Triakti-Indonesia and then attended and graduated from the University of the Philippines in Manila. She served her internships at Philippine General Hospital and then at Baptist Medical Centers in Birmingham, Alabama.
In the course of her dermatological residency at Lloyd Noland Hospital and the University of Alabama, she trained with the foremost experts in dermatology. She is considered an expert in the field of Cosmetic Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. She is a published author of articles for her profession’s peer reviewed international journals. She was a Clinical Instructor for the University of Alabama Medical Centers and Chief of Department of Dermatology at Baptist Montclair Hospital.
Her private practice began in 1983 after partnering with two other prominent dermatologists in the Birmingham area and went in solo practice in 2000.
